  14. This document is intended to get the user started using the VIRUSCAN product 
  15. in the Windows environment.  The following files should be in your current 
  16. directory:

  19.     WSCANB95.EXE    -       The Windows version of VIRUSCAN

  35.        CHECKING THE AUTHENTICITY OF VIRUSCAN FOR WINDOWS

  37. To get the validation code for the WINSTALL.EXE program, type

  78.                 GETTING STARTED
  79.  
  80. To run VIRUSCAN in the Windows environment, first run WINSTALL.EXE from the
  81. DOS command line.  This program will prompt the user for the name of the
  82. directory to store the necessary files.  If this directory does not exist,
  83. WINSTALL.EXE will create it.  It will then proceed to copy the files that will 
  84. be needed to that directory.
  85.  
  86. Then, the user will be prompted for the name of their Windows directory.  
  87. This is where SCAN.PIF will be placed.
  88.  
  89. Next, the user should bring up Windows and run the SETUP program to search 
  90. for Windows files in its current directory.  If running Windows 3.0, it will
  91. search the specified drive and "SCAN for Windows" will be found.  At that 
  92. point, the user should include it in the list of files to be added.  If 
  93. Windows 3.1 is being used, you can either do the same search as above, or
  94. specify which file to be added by typing in the path you have selected, with
  95. the name of the WSCAN executable.  For example, if the path you chose was
  96. C:\SCAN, you would then type in:

  101. "Scan for Windows" will be found in the Windows Applications group.

  105. For information on running VIRUSCAN with its various options, please refer 
  106. the on-line help service in VIRUSCAN for Windows.  Choose the "Help" menu 
  107. item from the "Help" menu.
